Selgate Specialist Hospital Rawang proudly hosted the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) Madani Roadshow 2025, an initiative organised in partnership with the National Lactation Centre under the Ministry of Health Malaysia. The programme brought together healthcare professionals, mothers, families, and community members in a shared effort to promote breastfeeding awareness and strengthen baby-friendly practices within healthcare facilities.
The event began with a warm welcome for visitors, followed by complimentary basic health screenings and a series of health talks delivered by medical experts. Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to learn more about breastfeeding support, maternal health, and the importance of creating a supportive environment for both newborns and mothers. The atmosphere was vibrant, engaging, and aligned with the national vision to enhance maternal and child wellbeing.
A major highlight of the programme was the official flag-off of a women’s motorcycle convoy involving 50 riders. The convoy served as a symbolic gesture of unity, empowerment, and commitment to advocating for breastfeeding-friendly practices throughout the country. The strong presence of women riders reinforced the message of community support and the role of women as key leaders in promoting maternal and child health.
As a participating Baby-Friendly Hospital, Selgate Specialist Hospital Rawang remains dedicated to upholding the principles of the BFHI. The hospital continues to improve breastfeeding support services, enhance mother-baby bonding initiatives, and provide accurate education to new mothers through evidence-based practices. The successful hosting of the BFHI Madani Roadshow reflects the hospital’s ongoing mission to support national health priorities and foster a nurturing environment for families.
Selgate Specialist Hospital Rawang looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the Ministry of Health, community partners, and the public in advancing efforts that prioritise maternal and child wellness — because at Selgate Specialist Hospital Rawang, Every Life Matters.
